Not only are our tours fantastic fun, challenging and often life changing experiences,
they can also be used to benefit others. A number of our customers are now using our more challenging tours to raise money for their favourite charities (via sponsorship).
Yes, we know that there are dedicated companies out there who run motorcycle tours to
raise money for their nominated charities. Good luck to them. We believe our approach offers a number of significant advantages. These are:
- You decide where your hard earn’t sponsorship money goes. You raise
money for your charity, we do not dictate where the money goes. If you want to raise money for a
worthwhile local charity, that is fine with us.
- There is no minimum amount that you have to raise. The tour costs are
our advertised brochure tour costs. You pay for the tour - the money that
you raise for charity goes direct to the charity. As such you are not obliged to raise
many thousands of pounds in sponsorship in order to go on the tour. You may only raise a few hundred pounds for charity but you know the
charity will get every penny of the sponsorship money.
- IMPORTANTLY.
All the money that you collect in sponsorship from UK citizens will benefit from ‘Gift Aid’. In other words, the taxman will also give your charity money. If you pay sponsorship to a charity tour company who then re-distribute the money to the charity, no gift aid can be claimed.
- Your sponsorship money is under your control, it will not go to pay admin staff,
tour costs and overheads etc. All the money that you raise goes direct to your nominated charity.
At present, we have three tours which fall into our Charity eligible tours. These
are ‘The Balkans Tour’; ‘The Morocco Tour’ and ‘The Southern India’ Tour. We also from time to time run dedicated charity tours - for 2011 we will be running
the ‘Melee to the Med Tour where all the money raised will go to ‘Help for Heroes’.
