Why book with British Bike Tours

  • We have been running tours since 2005.
  • We are a fully insured Tour Operator.
  • We offer value for money tours whilst still ensuring that corners are not cut and that we comply with the numerous laws and regulations covering Package Holidays.
  • Your safety is paramount on all our tours.  All our tours have been risk assessed.
  • Our guides are all very experienced.
  • We have an enviable 70% customer retention.
  • Some of our customers are on their tenth tour with us.  Many customers are on their fourth/fifth tour with us.
  • We are honest - if we think that a particular tour is not suitable for you we will tell you.  Of course, we will then direct you to a tour that is perhaps more suitable.
  • On our ‘Adventure Tours’ we employ local guides, mechanics, drivers.
  • We believe and participate in ‘Sustainable Tourism’.  We often use ‘Eco-Friendly’ hotels, employ local guides, support a number of charitable organisations in Nepal India and Morocco.
  • We are very innovative particularly in the use of new technology.  This helps us run a very efficient business which is reflected in our very competitive pricing.
  • Finally, we are bikers who love what we do with an absolute passion.

We consider our motorbike tours to be truly unique.  On our tours you will be challenged whether you are a novice or an experienced motorcycle tourer.  We go out of our way to find the twistiest roads and the most scenic and most unspoilt places.  Motorways and fast National roads are avoided if at all possible.  Our tours are mainly designed for Sportsbikes (R1, Blade, cbr600, Zx6, Triumph 675 etc); Tourers (Blackbird, FJR, BMWs etc); Adventure Bikes (Triumph Tiger, BMW GS etc).  Unfortunately we cannot cater for cruisers (Harley Davidsons, Dragstars, etc) on our longer, adventure tours.  These bikes are however, more than welcome on our Normandy, Loire Valley and Bridge in the Sky Tours.

For those of you who are flying in from further afield and want to hire a modern bike.  Let us know, we have various contacts in the London area where you can pick up a hire bike and join us on our tours.

We can offer guided motorcycle tours to the destinations found on our tour page or you can come on one of our more adventurous tours through Europe which include trips to the Alps, Pyrenees, Massif Central, Italy etc

If you are after a ‘trip of a lifetime’ experience then our Himalaya - Ride in the Sky, new Nepal tour and ever popular Southern India tours are hard to beat.  They are real life changing experiences!

NEVER BEEN ON TOUR THEN OUR ‘FIRST TOUR’ MAYBE JUST WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING FOR

Notes

Basic Price is based on one rider sharing a room (two to a room).  Single rooms and pillion prices are available and are shown on the individual tour web page and brochure.

We want everyone to come and have a great time on our tours.  That makes perfect business sense to us and also, we hope, makes sense to you.  In the past, a small minority of people have booked one of our expert tours and have struggled to cope with the distances and technical nature of the roads.  This means that they don’t have as much fun as they should do and also it may have an impact on other customers in the group.  As such we have graded our tours so that customers know what type of tour they are coming on.

All

These tours are open to anybody; the experienced motorcyclist, the inexperienced, those who have just passed their test, customers who have just returned back to biking, people who have never ridden abroad.  All are welcome.  These tours are part motorcycling, part cultural, the mileages are relatively low and there are plenty of stops etc.  All types of bikes are welcome.

Intermediate

Intermediate riders are those who ride regularly (say over 3000 miles a year), who have ridden in the rain, who are happy to be on a bike for upto 6 hours a day.  It may include people who have just passed their test and are now mad keen bikers and now ride every day.  Pillions are welcome and all types of bikes over 500cc are welcome.  Our intermediate tours are about riding your bike through great scenery.  We do try and stop regularly for coffee and lunch etc but the ethos of the tour is about riding your motorcycle on great roads not sightseeing, visiting museums etc

Expert

Our expert tours are at the adventure end of the market.  They are deliberately challenging, we will take you off the beaten track, the tour will be an adventure and the unexpected may  happen.  This is what makes them unique in the market place.  Expert riders are those who ride atleast once a week, are confident about riding in the rain, know how to go around corners properly, don’t mind being in the saddle for up to 8 hrs a day and most importantly see the tour as being an adventure.  With regards to bringing a pillion on these tours, we have had some pillions who have thoroughly enjoyed the adventure.  They have utmost trust in the rider and regularly go as a pillion.  If you don’t ride regularly as a pillion you will find our expert tours quite demanding.

In categorising our tours we are trying to be honest with you.  Follow our advice and you will get a holiday that best suits your needs and will then go onto book other tours with us.  Some of our customers started on our smaller taster tours (Vosges, Normandy) and are now on their 4th/5th tour including our expert tours and Expedition tours.

If you want some advise as to whether a tour is suitable then give us a ring.  We would love to speak with you prior to booking.
